Permissions & data

Understand what the workflow uses.

Transit data

The backend combines arrival information and train positions with explicit route and platform rules.

Refresh and caching

Shared caching limits upstream requests, and inactive views pause updates. Check freshness when returning to the page.

Behind the product

How the product works.

Choosing a direction, distinguishing local from express trains and checking the next useful departure can require scanning multiple pieces of station information.

Implementation details

The FastAPI backend combines records by train number and filters stale position data. Platform numbers come from application configuration because the source API does not provide them. The frontend requests updates while active, and the Redis-backed deployment shares cache and request budgets across instances.

Further improvements

Improve freshness indicators and expand route coverage after validating each route’s data and platform rules.

When you need a hand

The current implementation focuses on Yongsan and Bucheon in both directions.

Are platform numbers provided by the API?

No. Platform guidance comes from application configuration; station signage is the reference for temporary changes.
